About MBSR

MBSR teaches basic mindfulness skills, including breathing, body awareness, and awareness of thinking and emotion in a safe, non-judging setting. In addition to learning about the physiology of stress, each participant learns to identify personal stressors and how to respond to them in new ways.

Instructor:

Geri Wilimek, LICSW is a Clinical Social Worker in private practice. She is a 43year resident of the Bemidji area, and a Certified MBSR teacher, who studied in the Mindfulness teacher training programs at both University of Massachusetts Medical School and Brown University’s School of Public Health. She has been practicing mindfulness meditation daily since 2005, and has been teaching MBSR for 12 years.
